Looking for an excuse to grab a beer with your friends? Look no further than National Beer Day. This annual holiday takes place on April 7. Join us at Ed's Tavern and grab a beer for National Beer Day!
Did you know beer is the world's most widely consumed alcoholic beverage? And following water and tea, beer is the third most popular drink overall. It is one of the oldest prepared beverages, dating back to approximately 9500 BC.
Beer was banned during Prohibition, but on April 7, 1933, President Franklin Roosevelt signed a law that allowed people to brew and sell beer as long as it was below 4% alcohol volume. This was some of the first alcohol to become legalized post-Prohibition, making it incredibly exciting for beer lovers. This is why April 7 is National Beer Day.
Beer comes in a variety of forms and types. You can sip on lager, ales, sours, stouts, and more. You can also opt for light beer if you want to reduce your calorie intake or drink something with a lower alcohol content.
At Ed's Tavern, we have a beer for everyone. We carry ales, lagers, IPAs, APAs, wheat, ciders, and sours. We also have beer flights, bottles, and cans. Stick with what you know by ordering a Heineken, or get adventurous by sipping on a Bold Rock Pineapple Cider.
We also have the Funky Buddha Floridian on draft, which is an unfiltered and refreshing German hefeweizen rich with flavors of banana, citrus, and cloves with a wheat and pilsner malt body. Think about ordering the Calusa Zote for a juicy hop bomb that epitomizes unfiltered IPAs with tropical and citrus-forward flavors and restrained bitterness.
The Blue Pointed Toasted Lager is yet another beer you need to try at Ed's Tavern. It is a balanced flavor of malt and hops with special proprietary lager years that give an exceptional, long-lasting smooth finish. Some of our other on-draft beers are the TBBC Reef Donkey, the Green Bench Skyway Hazy DIPA, the Sailfish Tag & Release, and the Big Storm Sunny Key Lime Wheat Ale.
Don't miss out on National Beer Day this Friday, April 7. We are open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and you can find us at 10719 Rodeo Drive in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
